Terms of Use

These conditions govern access to and use of Brazos County Criminal History. Reading a page, using a search feature, or otherwise continuing on the site means you accept them. If you disagree with any condition, you must stop using the website.

NO FCRA USE. This privately operated site is not connected with any government body. Neither the site nor its advertising partners provides a service intended for credit, employment, tenant, or insurance decisions, or for another purpose regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). The site is a guide to official record resources in Brazos County, Texas, not a private investigator or consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

This is a private reference site operating independently of government. It neither stores official records nor retrieves records, performs official checks, or files paperwork for a visitor.

Its guides identify the Brazos County Sheriff's Office, District Clerk, Texas Department of Public Safety Crime Records Division, and Texas Public Sex Offender Registry as the relevant official custodians. Some pages also connect readers with outside search services.

2. Rules for Using This Site

You agree that you will not:

  • Break any federal, state, or local law while using this site
  • Use information you find here to stalk, harass, or threaten anyone
  • Base hiring, housing, lending, or insurance decisions on content from this site
  • Try to break into our systems or gain access you are not supposed to have
  • Run bots, scrapers, or automated tools against our pages
  • Do anything that slows the site down or blocks other people from using it

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

You may not use information from this site or a linked tool to stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or discriminate against anyone. Such conduct may also violate the law. Texas Code of Criminal Procedure Chapter 62 governs public Texas Public Sex Offender Registry information and prohibits misuse. Registry access supports public safety awareness, never vigilantism or discriminatory action.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA. We do not generate background checks, credit reports, or consumer reports of any kind. Neither we nor our advertising partners provide services built for screening job applicants, reviewing rental applications, calculating insurance rates, or judging creditworthiness. You agree not to use data from this site or any linked tool to:

  • Decide whether to hire or fire someone
  • Screen potential renters or housing applicants
  • Judge creditworthiness or set insurance premiums
  • Determine who qualifies for licenses, permits, or government programs
  • Do anything else that falls under FCRA rules

A check for an FCRA-regulated purpose must come from an appropriate FCRA-compliant provider or an official Texas channel authorized for that use.

5. No Legal Advice

Site content is general information, not legal advice. Only a licensed Texas attorney can assess how a charge, conviction, warrant, expunction, or nondisclosure rule applies to a specific set of facts.

6. No Warranties

Everything on this site is provided "as is." We do not guarantee that:

  • The information here is accurate, complete, or current at any given time
  • The site will stay up and running without interruptions
  • Our pages are free of errors, bugs, or security holes
  • Results from our partner search tools will be thorough or accurate

Criminal records change all the time - charges are filed, dismissed, sealed, and expunged. We try to keep up, but gaps are unavoidable. Nothing on this site should be treated as an official statement from a court, sheriff, or government agency.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

We link to sheriff's office sites, court portals, state agency pages, legal aid organizations, and outside search services across this site. Clicking one of those links moves you off our platform and onto one we have no control over. We are not responsible for their content, how they handle data, what they charge, or whether their site stays online. Check their terms before using them.

8. Intellectual Property

Text, graphics, logos, and code belong to Brazos County Criminal History or its content partners. They may not be copied, distributed, adapted, or used to create derivative work without prior written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for damages that come from using this site - including decisions made based on information found here or through any linked service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to hold us harmless from any claim, legal action, or demand that stems from how you used this site or from breaking these terms. That includes covering our legal fees and related costs.

11. Governing Law

Texas law governs these terms, and a dispute arising from site use must be filed in a court located in Texas. References to official public records are subject to the Texas Public Information Act, Government Code Chapter 552, and criminal-history dissemination rules in Government Code Chapter 411.

12. Changes to These Terms

We can update these terms whenever we see fit. New terms go into effect the moment they appear on this page.

13. Cutting Off Access

We can limit or block your access to this site at any time, for any reason, with no warning.

14. Severability

If a court rules that any part of these terms is invalid or unenforceable, the rest stand. The problem section gets adjusted only as much as needed to make it work.
